A quick trip down to Nottingham Road in KZN took me down the N3 highway and included some stops along the way. Wagendrift Dam, the old Van Reenen Pass roads and the town of Nottingham Road itself.

Top Billing goes for a meander through the Midlands

The route winding from Pietermaritzburg in the East to the majestic uKhahlamba Drakensberg mountains in the West recently won The S.A. Tourism Award for the best scenic beauty in KZN. It is what the locals did with this natural gift is that we came to see.

ABN Siphumelele Zondi visit the village of Nottingham Road in the Kwazulu- Natal Midlands and the business that are on that stretch of road Including Midlands Community College, the Fordoun Hotel and Spa with a traditional Healer whose herbs are now massage oils in the spa and speaks to the Local brewery staff.

Exploring the Haunted Nottingham Road Hotel, Midlands

The Nottingham Road Hotel is situated 8km down the Nottingham Road turnoff from the N3 Highway. Coming from Durban or Johannesburg we are in the heart of the Midlands Meander, with some of the popular Meander attractions on our doorstep, such as the Nottingham Road Brewery Company. The beautiful Kamberg and Sani Pass are also a stones throw away.
