The Bend Country House is a unique country venue for accommodation, a wedding or a special event. Whether you just just to sit and admire the view, walk or try your hand at some fishing…we have something for everyone.
This recreational residential Estate is one of the hidden gems of the Natal Midlands. It nestles in an amphitheatre in the foothills of the Drakensberg – 610 hectares of rugged mountainside and kilometres of the Mooi River define the character of this spectacular Estate. The Estate has been graded at the ‘5 star’ level by Ezemvelo Wildlife in terms of the bio-diversity criteria of the Department.
We have eight elegant on suite bedrooms in the main house and a further eight garden rooms in the adjoining new wing. All have period furniture and each room has its own unique character. We have remained true to the ambience of a country home. Some of our rooms have sofa beds and comfortably accommodate children. Most of our bedrooms have balconies, or open into the garden.
The Bend Country House is a unique country wedding venue. We can take no credit for the fact that the setting is unparalleled in the Midlands and never disappoints those of us who are fortunate enough to experience it. We have a qwaint chapel for the services or tie the knot down by the stunning river. We have a beautiful venue for the reception and enough accommodation for all your guests.
We have a lovely conference room in the main Hotel, or our Conference/Wedding venue and will set this up as you require.
The Bend is a great place to host any private function or celebration. Please contact us for more details on the facilities and rates for such events.
Whether you just just to sit and admire the view, walk or try your hand at some fishing…we have something for everyone. We are privileged to have an abundance of indigenous wildlife sharing the Estate with us, including 7 species of buck, several species of cats, reptiles and birds. The Bend has an impressive area of indigenous forest too.
